The theme of the C.S. Lewis “Oxbridge” Summer Institute in 2017 was CALLING – “Irrigating Deserts & Cultivating Gardens: Pursuing Calling with Purpose & Hope.” As you look forward to diving into 2018, you too may be wondering about what God is calling you to do, to pursue, or change in your life. As the C.S. Lewis Foundation posts videos of the lectures offered at this last year’s summer institute in England, I will gladly share them with you here, in The Thread. May God lead you into thriving in your calling.

Bishop Steven John Lindsey Croft, the Bishop of the Church of England for the city of Oxford is a theologian specialising in mission. This sermon was preached during the opening service of Oxbridge 2017 in the historic University Church of St Mary the Virgin, Oxford. The pulpit that Bishop Croft was standing in is the very pulpit that C.S. Lewis preached his famous sermon, The Weight of Glory, from, in 1941.
