Do you remember when you last fancied yourself the tough guy, the beautiful princess, or the handsome, suave and self-confident race car driver? That was me, the race car driver, when I was an insecure adolescent, not comfortable in my own skin. I don’t know about you, but even now, as a senior adult I can still, at times, feel that way and put on airs. The difference now is that when I catch myself slipping into that mode, I can laugh at myself. Now, I can choose to play the big man and smile, at myself. I have lived long enough and known enough people at all levels of success to rest in the fact that the grass is not really greener on the other side of the social scene.
But sometimes it is good to see the Lil P. Dos playing the tough ninja and know that who God has made me and called me to be is quite enough!
